Netafim

Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Netafim is the global leader in drip and micro-irrigation solutions for a sustainable future. At the intersection of water, food security, and arable land, drip irrigation enables farmers to grow more crops with fewer resources and reduced impact on the environment.

With traditional overhead irrigation solutions, water is wasted through evaporation, wind overspray, mist, or surface run-off. Netafim's innovative irrigation products apply water directly to a plant's root zone, optimizing water use while enhancing plant beauty and health.

Simcha Blass, a veteran Israeli water engineer, discovered that a slow, balanced drip effect leads to extraordinary plant growth. He spent decades trying to turn his breakthrough discovery into a reality. His efforts finally came to fruition with the establishment of the Netafim Irrigation Company in 1965. It began as a joint venture forged between Blass and Kibbutz Hatzerim, an Israeli agricultural settlement located in the Negev desert.

Netafim introduced the world’s first drip irrigation system in 1966. Netafim later turned to Rafi Mehoudar, who invented and developed the next generation of sophisticated drippers manufactured by the company. These drippers adapt to variations of inlet pressure and clean themselves automatically, maintaining a uniform flow rate regardless of water quality and pressure.

Netafim integrates a rich legacy of down-to-earth values with cutting-edge agronomic and technological expertise.
